Catch Up: August

My 2016 unintentionally became "The Year I Never Blogged"
because it intentionally became "The Year I Learned How to Be a Mom,"
and I hate the empty space over in those little drop-down year menus to your right.
So, each month is getting a retroactive rewind post.

August:
After that first month of being on service we were happy for Michael to start his anesthesia rotation. It is known for being the best schedule of all of residency, so even though we were a little sad we were taking that break early on in residency we were grateful it was going to fall during the month baby #2 came.

We bought a zoo pass and started venturing out into some Fresno spots once the temperatures hit high 90s rather than breaking 110. Mornings are pretty doable when the high isn't over 100. We also LOVED peach season. We will always, always love peach season.

Growing belly! Westin is aware change is coming... he just can't quite comprehend what :)

When all the ladies on the zoo trip have matching shoes.

That one time I had to track down the exact IKEA futon I wanted and in the end it involved my sister buying it and shipping it to me from Draper. That was fun.

Becca's peach pie!

Westin started throwing away his toys for a little stage.
This is him contemplating throwing away his binky.
We were also contemplating throwing away his binky.

Then he did it. Then he cried and cried and I got it out.
Later, at 22 months, it broke a little bit and I caved and got him new ones but he didn't like them like his
"broken in" ones, so he quit cold turkey. Thirty minutes of crying one night and then he was fine.

The best part of Fresno!

We took a day trip to Monterey and mystery shopped the aquarium.
My sciatic nerve acted up a ton that day and I was in so much pain.
Luckily we've been back to Monterey multiple times since because I love that place! Just not that trip.

Sally sent us Zokus and they became our #1 survival mechanism of summer!

We love getting together with the Ryans!

When a grandma gives you a sucker at the grocery store, it's a lucky day!

Peach season is the most wonderful time of the year!
