Long Draw Reservoir

This week was catch up and camp prep!

Michael took some time off at the end of the week so that we could make it up to Long Draw reservoir on Thursday instead of Friday.

We met an older man on a hike once who was carrying his own kayak up to a pretty spot, and we were so impressed with him. He said his favorite spot to kayak in all of Colorado is Long Draw Reservoir, so it's been on our bucket list. The sites are first-come, first-serve, which is quite the gamble with a car packed full of camping gear and food and boys! Luckily we got the last spot in the group of sites by the water, and it was hands down the most beautiful spot we've ever camped.

We saw moose multiple times on the drive up and while we were camping and hiking. We paddle boarded on the reservoir and had some hammock time. We did tin foil dinners and cast iron pizzas, and hiked to the back side of Rocky Mountain National Park.

Camping with the boys is so fun. Unplugged, outside.

Waiting room buddies for well checks.
In a room full of empty office chairs, they're both on me.
They're so fun.

We did a brain study at CSU after learning about the research study when we were at a park.
Camden had fun doing it and I found the whole thing so interesting.

Cutie little EEG man.

Dad had a late start so he joined us for part of our walk before splitting ways to go to work.
Hugs goodbye, always.

Signs of little boys.

This napping angel will always make me pause.

I loved these ducks.

Everyone got to choose a Trader Joe's treat for the camping tip.
Westin: TJ Takis
Bennett: Freeze Dried Strawberries
Camden: Seaweed
Asher: Peanut Butter Chocolate Dippers
(Thank goodness for Asher.)

Spotted this guy on our drive up the mountain!

Spotted some moose on our way to the campsite.
This guy was big!

Probably the prettiest campsite we've ever had.
This area is first-come, first-serve so it was a little stressful loading up the car and crossing our fingers!
But we went on a Thursday to be safe. We got the last spot in the area

Hiked to the back border of Rocky Mountain National Park. Just a little sign marking the start of it.
And we immediately saw a moose! They know where to be :)

Watching a couple moose

Pizza night!

I made this handout for a girls camp workshop I'm doing about prophetic promises.
I love seeing them all laid out like this.

Back side, more promises!
