Boys, Bikes, Buffalo

Life slowed down this week after our trips and visitors and big June plans.

We got back to routine early in the week and it felt good to have mornings of slow breakfasts, bike rides, working out, cleaning, morning jobs & routines, reading, and letting Asher have a morning nap. Then we go on walks or errands when he wakes up, and then both little ones take an afternoon nap. The bigger boys usually watch a show around then and I do yoga, catch up on Lighten Print stuff and copywriting stuff, figure out dinner (always figuring out dinner...) and then we usually play outside again when everyone's awake. I like these slow summer days.

This weekend we went to the Wyoming/ Colorado border to explore Terry's Bison Ranch, which was really fun. We saw baby cows, baby donkeys, baby horses, some turkeys, peacocks, roosters, goats, llamas, and of course, bison! They even let you feed them from the train ride, which Bennett was ALL about. Then we went to the restaurant there and ate... bison burgers. The boys didn't think too hard about this but Bennett did ask me later if the bison wanted to be a burger or if they wanted to live. Hard questions, guys. Let's just say if we ran our own farm my family would be vegetarians.

Slow Sunday leading up to some holiday time off for Michael this week is feeling good! I taught Gospel doctrine about Elijah this week -- I love the story of the widow of Zeraphath. So much faith is required sometimes, but it's always because God wants to bless us.

Always grabbing my face when he eats.

Everyone wants in on Asher hugs.

Slow summer mornings

Exploring a Bison ranch on Saturday!

So many fun animals to see.
The baby donkey was my favorite.

They even let us feed the bison! Bennett was in heaven.

Asher wasn't totally amused with his skipped naps,
but he was a sweetie the whole day.

After feeding the bison we..... went and ate bison burgers.

I was happy to find a tire swing on the playground there!
Best part of my elementary school playground right there.
Camden wasn't a big fan but the other two were loving it.

This one is more Camden's style.

Sunday ready!
