Grandma and Grandpa Time

We loved having grandma and grandpa here from Kentucky this week! They came on Monday and Westin was so happy to be picked up by them from school. On Tuesday we all went to Westin's cute TK Christmas program. He was front and center and very serious about the whole situation :) He sung the words but didn't get too into the actions, but he loves to give you a replay of his snowball poem!

Then that day Westin went on a date with Grandma and Grandpa to the fish hatchery and Chick Fil A, while Bennett finished up his speech assessment with the school district. Then later that day Bennett went on a date with them to window shop the pet store and pick out a treat at Trader Joe's.

We spent Wednesday at the zoo and we were so glad Michael was able to take a day off and be with us. The zoo was pretty much empty and we had such a fun day there! Then we went to Salsa's after and did one last 25 Days of Christ Christmas ornament with Grandma and Grandpa before they drove back down to LA. It was so fun to spend a few days with them!

The rest of the week has been low key and I've been sick this weekend. We skipped church and Michael was in San Francisco for work this weekend, so it was just a slow few days at home together. But they were good days, all things considered. Westin used to get ten cents every day that he didn't hit or use the word hate or have angry outbursts... and this week he said, "Hey, should you just be giving me lots of ten cents right now? Because we don't get angry at each other anymore!" It was the sweetest little statement and observation. We've been noticing the good in each other instead of the bad and it's making a big, big difference.

TK Christmas Program

Grandpa had a cool owl experience in the bird show!

Sweet LoRane watches my boys once a week when I go to physical therapy,
and I'm so grateful for her! This week she brought caramels and rolled them with the boys and
they have been happily snacking on them all week!

Caught this funny moment at our ward Christmas party.
I wanted them to put their arms around each other for a picture
and this is what ended up happening. It keeps cracking me up.

Like I said. Slow days.

Ummm who wants to come wrap??? :)
And I'm grateful my kids are still oblivious enough to not think twice about this pile of packages t
hat will mysteriously disappear after Christmas.

Westin wrote this during quiet time, cutie boy.
"Kazden, I like you because you are funny.
Ethan, I like you because you are funny too.
Colt, I like you because you are funny too."

Michael out on the town with residents in San Fran.
After operating on cadaver heads that day, they deserve it.... yuck.
