Science Fair & Mom's Tea

Bye to the beach and back to reality!

Last year we had a science fair right after our Florida trip and this year was the same story right after Hawaii. Bennett loved doing an experiment with Skittles and he was really excited to be in the fair again this year. We were going to skip it when I saw the date, but they were looking forward to it. He walked away with second place again and it was really cute to see him so excited!

Camden's preschool did a Mom's tea on Saturday where the kids performed some songs and they showed some mom-centered artwork they did, plus read us some hilarious interviews with each kid about their moms. He locked eyes on my the whole performance and was just smiling the cutest smile and gave me so many hugs after. Then on the way home he said, "Do you just always want to be this happy? I always do." Melted my heart. Did he fight us just a little while later still? Yes, yes he did. Haha four-year-old highs and lows are a ride. Especially when you're riding along with a two-year-old as well.

Michael had two dinners this week for work stuff and we also fed the missionaries and got out on a date during Fort Collins' Great Plates week this weekend, so it felt like busy nights. We are trying to make Friday movie night a more consistent tradition, so we're working our way through this list. The first one we hadn't seen on that list was The Lego Movie so we started with that. Talk about sensory overload... but the last 30 seconds of the movie almost made watching the rest of it worth it. The boys had us rewind the ending like 6 times to keep laughing at it.

Catch up after vacation is so much! But it's good to be home with these cute boys.

Getting away is good, so is coming back.

Ready for the science fair! He loved doing this Skittle experiment.
(What dissolves them the most -- water, baby oil, alcohol, or vinegar?)

Westy boy did a -- you guessed it -- football experiment with his bestie.
They had fun changing the air pressure and measuring passes.
The results were...... very inconclusive haha.

This cute girl was happy to be reunited with us after a long week away!
She had a great time at her first Rover stay though instead of the kennel we've taken her to pretty regularly.

Bennett is THRILLED in this photo after just hearing he got second place.
Such a sweetie.

Tree trimmers were big time entertainment this week.

These boys... I don't know that they're very incentivized to not get cavities
because they really enjoy their dentist trips.

A few books on repeat with this cute guy.
Two-year-olds are such sponges and so funny.

We have a pet ladybug and they love spotting her.

Locked eyes on me all through mom's tea.

This was such a cute little mother's luncheon put on by Camden's preschool.

Such a sweet boy. He loved performing all their songs.

My little buddy.

Love catching all four of these guys watching something together.
